Let’s be the difference,
Being the difference may be seemingly difficult, making an impact may seem impossible and overwhelming when looking at the current state our world is in. Often times I feel overwhelmed, wondering how on earth we can truly make a difference. Not just in a way that makes us feel good, but in a way that is truly meaningful. Because ultimately, feeling good should always only be the byproduct and not the motivation for our deeds. In the sea of overwhelm, I find myself time and time again realizing that although chances are we can’t (all) save the world, we definitely can make a difference in someones life – no matter how small it may seem to us.
Making flower girl dresses has brought such blessing on my life, in many ways. I (honestly!) love my job so much. Not only because of the pretty fabrics, but also because I have such a passion to work with little ones. What a blessing (and enormous responsibility) it is to speak into their lives! Although I don’t meet every single one of the girls I make a dress for, I like to add a little note to their order, that is written especially for them. A blessing and word of encouragement. My hope is that this note will make a significant impact on the lives of each of these girls at some point in their lives.
Collaboration
The most important part about being the difference, is that we support Hope Art Africa. To each dress order made by our clients a bracelet is added, on us. Two of these bracelets (roughly R100’s worth) feed and orphan for a month. I’m always amazed at how little can make a massive difference (think fish and bread – Jesus can multiply our small blessings for maximum impact!). How important it is to know we are never too young to make a significant difference in the lives of those around us! Let’s constantly speak a message of hope, of love and of kindness. Let’s raise little ones who are compassionate and caring, together.
By supporting us, you are supporting Hope Art Africa. They create jobs for South African women, as well as women from Zambia. Profits raised goes toward the orphaned children in Zambia, tending to their needs where they have no parents to care for and provide for them. Even if you do not order from us please consider supporting this wonderful cause. They have lots of fantastically crafted items you will love.
